question
Mike and I will be married 25 years in July. I want to give us a small open house. Erin can not afford to do this. Do anyone have any ideas for this. We do not want to spend a lot of money but want to celerbrate with our friends.

just have family and friends over and make some good dishes.
If you want to do a "meal", summer is a great time to cook hamburgers & hotdogs/brats on the grill. Or - put out the fixin's for taco salad/nachos and let everyone build their own.
Otherwise, you can go to Sams or Costco and get one of those large sheetcakes. They are really yummy!
Everyone could join in together to furnish food
and that would help cut down the cost..and you could maybe organize some games or something and have music.
If you had a celebration outside, it might be easier to clean up afterwards.
Hope you have a nice week, Trina.

maybe you could use the fellowship hall at your church and have a pitch-in or have a "bring your favorite snack & board game" party. perhaps people could donate to a favorite charity (such as an autism group) instead of bringing gifts. Congratulations on 25 yrs!!!

have each person/family you invite bring a dish and tell them that's better than any gift they could get you. what could be better than friends/family/food the 3 f's
congratulations
It's found in the frozen section.. all ready, you just need to thaw it!
I love it! I love just about anything Oreo, though!
Invite family/ friends and tell them its a covered dish/potluck. But you need a special cake; afterall it is your 25th anniversary so cake and homemade ice cream are in order! Congratulations on your 25th!
Hey hun! Happy Belated Birthday to your mom!!!!
Wow 25yrs! How exciting!
My pastor and his wife just celebrated their ann. They had it at church, they had family/friends make chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad-those go a long way especially if you add chopped celery, onions...lol lol.., tons of Italian cookies! All homemade. Punch...and fruit on skewers! It was nice and simple! They used croissants for the bread for sandwiches...The kids did some decorating. They got plastic but color coordinating table cloths, easy table top decorations, some baloons...they also had their wedding pics and pics taken through out the years on display all around the room. She had her wedding gown out!!! It was really nice and inexpensive! You could do that at your church or just do it at home! Have family and close friends help you out. Nothing wrong with people bringing things!!!!!!!! That is what family/friends are for right!
Let me know how things go and what you decide on!
Hey mrs. anslow. how are you? i'm never on xanga anymore but i read your post. for mother's day we had a picinic at valley forge park. they have all the benches and tables plus grills to use. it's also beautiful there! plenty of room to play soccer or whatever games u like. hope i helped!
hey there...you already have some ideas of your own! They sound good!
What fun ideas...and the best part is including family and friends with some shared food. I know it will be fun...just add some pictures and lots of smiles....Sounds like the best recipe!! Maybe you could also invite the best man and maid of honor...25 years is surely worth celibrating!!
Thanks for asking- I still have no voice... but hopefully it will come back tomorrow! please!
