  • GOOD MORNING

    Dear Friends,

We have a big meeting this morning about Elisa's future.  Wt at our church.  Our pastor will be there and I have asked him to open in prayer. I know this is not usually done in this type of meeting but our faith is a big part of who we are and these meetings could get heated with all the people involved.

I am going to try to visit your sites this week. I miss being on here.

    Love,

    Trina

  • Hi Trina,

I just accidently happened on to your site.  I'm a 62 yr old mom of three teenagers (grandchildren of an adopted son) that I'm raising. My two oldest have the Asperger diagnosis along with their dad and mother.  My third who is 13 is only ADHD.  So life has it's challenges! :)   But God is my strength. I don't know how people do it without God!

My girls are sweet but so many behavioral issues.  Since I'm raising my second generation of Aspergers, I don't have the energyu I did with my first family.

My first husband was killed in a van wreck about 10 years ago and I've remarried.  My 2nd husband is having a hard time dealing with Aspie behavior.   They can be very unfocused at times and not very motivated.  I've worked on social cues all their lives and some days it doesn't seem like we've made much progress.

I used to be a part of two different e-mail support groups but both have dissolved.  I leaned on them for several years.  Are you aware of any "working" e-mail Asperger support groups?  So many people don't understand Autism.  And quite often I need a shoulder to cry on.

It's called the hidden disability because they often look so normal and often sound so "normal.  Do you have teenagers? And what do you see in the future for your Aspie/s.  I know God has a plan and it's much bigger than mine so I'm trying to leave it there.  But I keep asking myself if there isn't more I can do.  There's a lot more questions than answers for dealing with Aspies.. :)

God bless you as you train them in the way they should go.

  • I hope your meeting went well and God directed your steps with your daughter. Is your mom doing any better? I can't imagine going through all you are going through at one time! May our Lord Jesus give you peace and comfort during this time along with lots of strength and energy. God bless you.

  • Trina, Stopping by to give you a hug! ((((((hug))))) Praying for you & family,

    Dianemarie
