  • Hello Trina,  It’s been so long since I’ve connected with you.  I just read over your site and I’m so sorry your daughter has been hospitalized again.  And that she’s not getting hte services she needs.  Has the newspaper article made a difference yet?  I want to encourage you not to get too discouraged or give up.

I am so happy today!  After fighting for Disibility for over 2 years for my 20 yr old, we finally went to court today in Indianapolis to her disibility hearing and we WON!!!!  We have appealed and appealed her denials,  Today we were in court room  about 15 minutes.  The Psychiarist read over her thick file of test results, letters from doctors, councillors, special ed teachers etc.  A lifetime of her story and he said that she had enought of a combination of things with Aspergers, low IQ,  ODD,  Obcessive/Compulsive and ADHD that she fit the criteria for benefits.  THANK YOU LORD!

I asked my 20 year old if she was excited about the great victory today.  She just shrugged her shoulders and started talking about how excited she was to get to see the new Colt’s sports dome.  We drove by it and she took lots of picutres with her cell phone.  Like that was the main arttration of the day!  Typical Asperger/Autism response.

Now I believe that if anything happens to me she will be taken care of.  The Autism waiver that we signed up for about 5 years ago has kicked in and another one will soon kick in which will provide her with assisted living down the road a ways if we chose to go that route.  I hope your daughter can soon begin to recieve some of the services that are out there.  These kids really need them!
