  • Autism

I am not sure how your state is but in ours you can be turned down admissions to hospitals base on your disability. This has happen to our daughter twice in three months. Both times she had to be in hospital er waiting for someone to be able to take her.It took about three days each time. Autism is on the rise and it is about time that something is done to prevent this. I have  contacted my elected officials. There really is not much help out there for people with autism over the age of 17. In order to even apply for services Elisa had to be given the MR label. Even with that she is on a waiting list of over 10.000 people in our state and she is n the bottom and is on the critical list. How is it in your state? The insurance company here is also the one who decides if she can be put in the hospital or not. We ran into that this time. The doctor said yes but the insurance company said no but overturned themselves a few hours earlier.

Elisa will be coming home today--no better off than when she went in.

  • AUTISM

This is Autism awareness month.   Autism is a big part of our lives. There are times that I HATE AUTISM!!!! The main reason is watching what it has done to Elisa. I am going to be very honest in this post. Things have not been good with Elisa for awhile. She is struggling a lot. It is hard watching someone you love having such a hard time.

There is not much help for people Elisa's age with autism. You have to fight to even get a hospital to take her. People at our church are learning about this as many are helping us and when they hear anything about it they will try to let me know.

There needs to be services for older children with autism. We have been going through a nightmare lately and I want to wake up. I have question God a lot about this, there is times He seems so silent and we wonder if He is there. Then we remenber HE NEVERE LEAVES US AND HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!!!

I cry a lot anymore--sometimes it feels like I am loosing Elisa to autism.

    Autism has change  our lives.

  • We have gone through a nightmare with the insurance company. There should be some kind of law about hospital being able turn patients down base on their disability. I am sorry if what I am about to say may offend someone but people  who chooses to  be drunks  and drug addicts get better treatment than my daughter has. They chose to take that drink and those drugs. Elisa nor our family chose Autism. We have been through something the last several days that was so terrible.
