  • Today is the day that Erin will be leaving. Mike is taking it really hard. She has waited untill the last minute to pack. She wants to go by herself. Mike took the day off in case she changes her mind and lets him go. She does not want us to see her cry. I will try to comment on your sites soon.  Trina

  • There's so much going on in your life right now, Trina!  I hope it goes well this weekend.  Is she going far away?

  • Sending you many (((HUGS))), please take care Trina.

  • (((hugs))) It's hard when they leave the nest, even if it is for college. She'll be fine.

  • This is going to be a hard day for your family. However, she will be coming back for summers, etc. I'll be going through something similar when my daughter gets married in November. I'll keep praying!

  • With all you've been through lately, I know it is going to be extra-hard watching your daughter head off to school.  Is she going very far away or do you anticipate that you will get to see her often?  I'm sure she is the "bright spot in your life" during all these difficult times you are facing and having her move on to college will leave a "hole" in your life.  Praying for you.

  • Kim cried this year when we left. I cried too. The car accident the evening before really shook her up emotionally.

  • Hi Trina,

Kim's room is quite small also, it looks bigger in the picture because Dennis used a wide angle lens to get the whole room in one picture. Her dorm has 8 showers for 100 girls. Kim says that there is never a problem waiting to use a shower because everyone seems to naturally take their showers at different times because of different kinds of jobs, job schedules, class and sports schedules.

I hope that Erin can enjoy turning her room into something that will feel special and her very own. Kim had a very small, but lovely remodeled room last year. She enjoyed that room, but I think that she almost feels more satisfied with the work and creativity that was required to turn such a sad, ugly room into a something of beauty that she can call her own for this coming year!
